Flow Chemistry

At Redeem, we make flow chemistry easy to adopt, easy to use, and effective from day one

Do it SMART, Do it in FLOW

What is Flow Chemistry? Instead of static flasks, reactants are continuously pumped through flow reactors where they mix, react, and exit as a continuous product stream.

Why do it? Superior mixing and temperature control, access to chemistries forbidden in batch, safer handling of hazardous materials through smaller in-process volumes, better light utilization, and straightforward scale-up.

When is it used? For fast or highly exothermic reactions, hazardous or toxic reagents, unstable intermediates, photochemistry, electrochemistry, multi-step synthesis and much more.

Who uses it? Academic researchers, pharma companies, fine & agrochemical industries, and process engineers.

Where does it happen? In Redeem Technologies Flow Reactors.

One Flow System, for many reactions

Modularity is important in flow chemistry because, unlike in batch, the reactor itself is part of the reaction design. In batch, the basic setup is usually always the same, a flask, a stirrer, and the temperature control, whereas in flow the setup is more sensitive to the reaction’s requirements, such as residence time, mixing, pressure, temperature, light penetration, gas-liquid contact etc. A modular platform allows researchers to adapt the system to different reactions without replacing the entire setup, making it useful across multiple projects. This reduces cost, makes the equipment more future-proof, and allows labs to expand their capabilities as their chemistry evolves.
